Apparently they used that one as a pass phrase for the Scottish regiments in the Wars because the Germans couldn't even begin to say it.

Re: tongue twisters

“Pabst, Blatz, Schlitz”

All WI beers. Pronounced "pabst," "blaats," and "shlits." Say it a few times, it gets interesting.

There's also:
"I am not the fig plucker,
I'm the fig plucker's son.
But I'll keep plucking figs
'til the fig plucker comes.

It's similar to the pheasant one that my.dragons.lady mentioned earlier.

I am not the pheasant plucker,
I'm the pheasant plucker's son,
But I'll keep plucking pheasants,
'til the pheasant plucker comes.

Tehehe. I like tongue twisters

No Idea if thats true.

I know that it was used to determine nationality on the England/Scotland border, but I think Germans would have a better time pronouncing it than the English as the "och" and "ach" sounds in the two languages are similar (the clearing of the throat sound).
As an easy demonstration (though I'm not Scottish, I do have a Scottish grandmother and a basic understanding on the dialect), think of the word "Loch" (as in "Loch Ness"); the common English and American ways to pronounce it are as "Lock", when it more closely resembles Lochk with the "ch" pronounced gutterally.
