Status of your Parents

So now a days alot of kids parents are splitting up and all sorts of stuff is going on.

My parents have been slip for a long time. My dad got remarried... and married a very annoying step mom ...it’s been about 8 or 9 years. Now I am going to be stuck with her for 3 months... yes that does not seam like a long time but it is a long time for me at least. My dad is leaving for a job... but he wont be here but like every other weekend. Its just me and my 2 brothers, I am pretty much alone anyway cause they dont talk to me much and I am the only female other than my step mom in this house.
I wanted to know who everyone else lives with, if they have both of their real parents or step mom/dad or just mom/dad or even grandparents.

Sometimes I really wish my parents were still together

my dad jumped ship early in life. well actually mom threw him over bord. THANK GOD. if not i would be shaked up in some crack house somewhere.

My step dad has always been there, and as far as im concerned he is my dad.
sometimes it takes a couple of trys before you find what will best fit.

I know my mom needed to make changes for her life, and ye sthey affected me, but its not my call to through a hissy over it. I have to respect her dision that she wasnt happy with her life and needed to change it. if i want a relationship with my real dad i could have one. The only thig it changes is where i live, and how offten i see teh other person, and both of thos ethings are in my controle if i really wanted to do something about it. and as far as step parents go. my step mom is a bitch. and i would have no qualms with kicking teh shit out of her.

you dont have ot like the step parent because your parent dose. they deserve some respect yes, but you have teh choice ot give it to them, and oyu certonly dont have to like them. every kid has rights, and choices in these situations.

i refuse to be teh victum of my parents life choices.

mine split early last year as many on here know, cos it completly destroyed any normality in my life...I still have no contact with any of my mothers family which hurts alot, but I just step back one in a while when the pain wells up, an I just say "fuck 'em, its their loss, not mine"

my parents are still married for 20 years. many ofmy friends parents are divorced, i heard that about 2 of 3 marriages end in a divorce.

because so manny people jump out there and get married with out thinking about what that actually means. Or people cheat, marrages fail. people hate one another and destoy eachothe rlives in divorce. children are affected negitivly. gah it just seems liek people forgot about what that means.

I think its better now days to find someone you can be with, and love deeply, and comit too, and try that out and live together for a few years before you decied to jump into marrage. I belive if your going to marry you better be damm ready to be married.

My parents split May of 03. Can't say I was upset about it because my dad had been an asshole most of my life. Didn't want to have anything to do with anyone in the house unless it was something he wanted to do. I was happy when it was moving day... couldn't wait to get away from him. It made my mom sad because she tried so hard to keep their marriage and the family together.

Funny thing is, he just recently remarried... to a woman who could be my mom's identical twin. Divorced a Janice, only to marry a Janet. Only difference is she's a bit more masculine in her hobbies... she likes nascar, hunting, working on trucks, and range shooting. My dad doesn't even like to hunt, much less go to a range to shoot. I think he's gone gay and married her so she could teach him how to be a man.

Parents married but my dad works for the Union so he is never home.

He has actually been home for about 1/2 of my life.

My parents split cause my dad's gay. Mom remarried about 15 years later, and my dad and his boyfriend just split up after like ten years together. I have no clue why, they hadn't really told anyone

Anyway, I lived with my grandparents most of my childhood, then my pop died when I was sixteen, and I moved in with my mom and stepdad a year after that happened. Basically, he was the intermediary between me and my grandma, and once he was gone, the tension just started to get too strained. I guess that makes me a mixture of three of them

which is surprising. because my mom became pregnant at 18 (with my dad) and married him when she became pregnant with me. and we don't seem to be any more dysfunctional than most other families.

my parents are a great sucess story for teen pregnancy. since my mom went to college and got a masters degree in history and my dad is a really good computer programme and is in high demand.

but it's weird, cause i was thinking about this the other day. how my mom would probably have married a completely different guy if she hadn't become pregnant with my sister. since you're suppose to marry someone like your father. my dad is nothing like my grandpa. and so i dunno, it kind of makes me sad that neither were able to follow what they probably would have actually done. but hey, i wouldn't be here then. so it's all good.
