Re: The official "World Cup 2006"
i'm in full support of Italy, but it is shameful that we've been put in the same group as Ghana, USA, Czech Republic.. no offence to em, but only the Czech are good at it out of those 3...
well, good luck to all! |

as they like to say in american baseball movies: 'aaaaaaaand they'rrrre out!' italy is going to rock everyone's socks. and trinidad and tobago should have won that last match against england - they really deserved to [although gerrard's goal was superb]. after paraguay scored that own goal the entire country was acting as if they'd already won the world cup. i swear to god, the english are the worst post-match fans in the world. and omg saudi arabia got a point! fucking hell yeah! and dad said they hadn't a hope in hell. come to think about it they probably don't... but that's not the point! the bbc and stv commentators are being ridiculously slaggy about the african teams. 'and here's angola; the only team ranked lower than them is togo... who lost out entirely in the african cup.' 'and here are the winners of the african cup... losing to everyone else.' 'this may actually be an african nations first chance to score a point!' etc etc. what amazes me is the fact that they've not mentioned 1966 yet - surrounding the matches, nobody can shut up about it, but the actual commentators have made absolutely sure not to say a thing. [did anyone else notice that during the match coverage yesterday there was a picture from 1966 on the wall behind the interviewer?] ... [eric? something's up with the rep. check it against the member-list organised by rep, and it doesn't work out. and i think mine's dropped. i'm confuzzled.] Last edited by Kali; 06-17-2006 at 06:56 AM. |

Re: The official "World Cup 2006"
I dont have fond memories of World Cup. Back in 94' we went to Mexico for a three week vacation. The whole country 'STOPPED" just so they could watch the games.....what a waste of time. My ex-husband played semi-pro in Los Angeles but after having knee and ankle surgury was forced to retire. Frankly after 20 years of soccer I'm tired of the damn sport. Think I'll take up golf.
