i draw a lot of cartoons, and seeing we got a thread on poems, i thought id do one on cartoons, so heres my latest effort:

(note this is REAL bad, it was drawen by me whilst someonbe was dictating the plot to me on an instent messenger, my normal stuff is of a higher quality)

to get the one joke in that strip, u have to have seen the guiness advert, which is british. also that cartoon that weasel posted, yeh its funny, but its fucking boring, theres like a million cartoons with that kinda jokes, and they are funny, but i totally fucking love off the wall cartoons, like pokey the penguin (my aviator) and the cartoons of listentome.net

Something to think about - First, bored people are boring. Second, it's one thing to criticize or compare objectively and constructively. Another thing altogether to be obnoxious without thinking - most of us call that ignorant or immature. Third, if a cartoon needs to be setup in order to be understood, then that should be done. Might take some of the spontaneousness out of reading it, but at least it would be understood. Fourth, when you post WHATEVER comments you want to make anywhere, you should consider whether or not you know the person you're addressing, and if it matters to you what other people think. If it matters, it's worth considering how the post will be received by both strangers and friends. If it doesn't matter, you may find yourself removed without warning in some places. Or you could just end up being flamed until you get tired of it and go somewhere else on your own. It's called manners and etiquette - something most of the rest of the world claims to have over Americans. Maybe you're exempt though ... nahhh.

mydragonslady, fair point i can see what ur sayin, i didnt really think abpout it, cos i had no idea if anyone else would like it - i di, but i go in for weird anarcic cartoons. also, bored people arnt always boring, i aint boring, i would like to think the off-the wallness of my cartoon would show that, i just dont find those kinda cartoons at all funny, as theres millions of them, and i find the style funny, i can appriciate them.

if boring ppl are bored, i would say that ppl who slag other ppl like zero did, is "fucking retarded" of him, he didnt get it, he didnt understand it or whatever, that is no way to treat sumone that u dont know, u have to base it on that cartoon, how does that make me retarded, unfunny maybe, not retarded.


and whoever chainged longs post, ur a complete wank. once on this i red i saw sonmthing by zero that sed somthing like (cant remeber exactly) "all you negitive people, leave almost smart" now your doing it. i will addmit the cartoon was badly drawen, but i find it funny, and loads off ppl i know found it funny. i put it up cos i thought ppl would find it funny, and u didnt; so wot, i dont really mind, weasel se he didnt like it, thanks, he also put up a cartoon HE liked, thanks, thats kinda wot i had intended this thread to become, not sum dum ass slagging match.

one last thing: i bet u anything, u would never say anything like that to makadrys [poems, just becomes somthing isnt downbeat and sentimental, dont mean it dont mean anything to the person that made it

I like Gary Larson's cartoons ... there's something about deer sitting around smoking a pipe and knitting in a family room with people heads on plaques decorating the walls that is just plain funny to me :.)

According to my handwriting analysis *grin* I say EXACTLY what's on my mind and not with a lot of tact, good/bad/indifferent. Analysis or not, it happens to be true. (apologies in advance to all mankind). Also, so far most of the writings here are really pretty good and none of them actually suck except mine. But that's 'cause I tend to write like I think and I write to purge and organize thought processes. Once in a great while I get lucky with something that's mediocre. I also don't write to get feedback. I write to make a statement. Regardless of the reason for whatever people draw or write though, ck is right. It means something to the creator. And criticizing intelligently or knowledgeably is also a skill which I don't have. So I if I feel compelled to comment on someone else's work, it's true that I'm careful about what I say because criticizing also reveals ignorance and social ineptitudes and it works both ways *grin*

So, my point is (yes I'm know I'm verbose), that this thread is not ruined and we all have something to learn and gain from each other.
