Punk albums you should, should not own.....

Okay, I'm new so don't grill me up on this crap quite yet, I do have an idea about music. If you own a CD player and you are into rock/punk rock music, you must go get these artist albums, I assure you that they will not dissapoint.

Should artist:

Boxcar Racer- This has to be the most complete punk album ever. This album is diverse with its heavy tracks on one end and its tranquil acoustic tracks on the other. Its an album any person could pick up and listen to.

AFI- Also a must have, that is if your looking for something different to listen to. Very alternative punk style with a little different flavor, none the less, a good one.

Blink 182- regardless of what anybody says, the guys have something going that keeps the record sales up. And with anticipation of everyh new album and delivering new and better stuff, they make the cut.

Midtown- Not well known (as far as the MTV crowd), but needs to be. Go get some of their stuff and you'll agree.

Greenday- this is self explanatory

others:
Lagwagon
Goldfinger
Auto Pilot Off
Less Than Jake
Sum 41
The Transplants
Fenix Tx

Shouldn't Artist:

Good Charlotte- I just can't stand these guys anymore. I relaized this at the 2002 Vans Warped Tour when 400 pound sweaty girls started yelling "Benji, Benji!" and their arm pit was like in my mouth and sh*t. I mean, even your friend's mom probably listens to this crap now.

New Found Glory- Why are they even on MTV???

Avril- Self explanatory (didn't she have a special on ABC Family?, holy sh*t you're really punk now.)

Simple Plan- Jeez, I saw them on a promo for Nickelodeon the other day, are you marketing your crap to 7 year olds?

Other Shouldn'ts:
Andrew W.K.
Alien Ant Farm (the whole Micheal Jackson thing is dead now)

Ah, a n00b. Well, you forgot Never Mind The Bollocks Heres The Sex Pistols by the Sex Pistols. Man, thats a must have of ANY punk collection.

Good Charlotte is okay, not the best, but okay. I like their 1st CD better, when no one knew who they were as much as today.

Yea, Simple Plan is marketed to 7 year olds. My younger sister loves them, she is 8.

woah woah woah WOAH! Hold on one second. Andrew W.K. and his band may be terrible musicians, but when you see him live. You have one HELL of a time. He's so much fun live and has takin part in many "punk" venues such as Skate and Surf.

Where's the talk about Rancid, NoFx, Bad reilgion, Pennywise? these bands have been around for a long time and have watched the ever changing face of punk. To me their will always be one true type of punk. Now we have pop punk, which started off okay but has turned into an invation of sappy lyrics being marketed to the majority of society, yes even 7 year olds. Part of the charm that original punk had was that it was about being different and voicing your opinions which were usually against socialistic structure. Now pop punk is becoming a big part of mainsteam society. And in my mind I think that they have every right to do this. BUT DONT CALL YOURSELF PUNKERS WHEN EVERY SONG IS A HARMONIC LOVE SONG ABOUT THE GIRL DOWN THE STREET. give me some feedback guys/girls.

Did anyone want to name some actual punk bands? Why aren't Pennywise mentioned, jesus. Is there a better punk band today then Pennywise? When you put low riders in your videos, you can not be punk, so no GC. Sex Pistols, Clash maybe even the Dead Kennedys. It is sad what the Warped Tour has turned into.

the distillers are great. my opinion on rancid has never changed, they are my favorite band. nofx is great too. also what about some of the other bands on non major punk labels like the real mckenzies (well actually part of the sub Fat Wreck Chords label Honest dons records) and leftover crack (hellcat). i love all the bands that guttermouth said. but one point i must make Flipkid: what would your opinion on rancid be if they decided to go major label after years of speaking out about it?
