Anti-depressants suck! I've got lyme disease(hence my user name) and my forrmer doctor didn't know what to do about it so he gave me Zoloft, to make forget I didn't feel good. I only took it once and I was spaced the whole day. Ugh, it was awful, my head was in a fog. If you want to be happy get some caffeine pills (now if I could only spell...) Anywayz, that's just my opinion.

Yeah this is an ancient thread I don't even think the guy who started it is even on AS any more. I'm not even sure how ended up here. I just saw anti-depressents. I'd kill for a xanax right about now. Fuckitol something.

Re: Antidepressants

I use St. Johns Wort, ginkgo biloba, and gotu kola to treat my depression and anxiety. They work quite well, and don't seem to have any side effects.

Re: Antidepressants

The dude who wrote this thread must be all kinds of fucked up, if the doc's got him on 3mg of xanax and 60mg of paxil daily. I wonder what he's up to now...2003 was a long time ago.

St. Johns wort is great. I say, unless you absolutely have to, herbal is the best way to go. Doctors are so influenced by the pharmaceutical lobby that they're pretty prescription happy. Benzos aren't to be given out lightly, as they have abuse and addiction potential (with nasty withdrawls) and street value. It's ironic that they're prescribed to people who suffer from anxiety, but often result in anxiety as a byproduct when people realize they can't discontinue use.

Prescribing children amphetamines is just straight fucked. Actually, why do we have to prescribe anyone amphetamines? What's wrong with the human brain in its natural form? I resent even having to use caffeine on a daily basis to inhibit the normal uptake of normal chemicals in my brain. Maybe we should take a look at society -- obviously a high pressure, conformist society is to blame here, not our brains.

Re: Antidepressants

Funniest thing about this thread is that Xanax isn't an anti depressant, it's anti-anxiety.
