Guinness and Mohawks is dying

Dreadful news. One of our old members, Guinness and Mohawks, has been battling cancer for two years now and he has received news that there is nothing more that the doctors can do. He lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, and Pittielynn is collecting cards, letters, poems, drawings, etc. that she will pass on to him from the Almost Smart community. Would any of you like to participate?

I would love to participate. I'm not really good at writing or drawing or anything but I'd totally send a card.

After getting the message on FB it took awhile for it to sink in, by the time I got off the bus this morning, I was in tears. I'm so sorry to hear he's been suffering this long. This is one of those times when you question of there is a God, why is he allowing this to happen. He's to young. His poor parents, family and friends. Please let him know we love him and wish for him to be rid of this pain.

Friends, I'm so sorry to say that Guinness and Mohawks passed away last night. His mother posted on facebook yesterday that "Bacon has left the building." I guess we know where he got his sense of humor!
Its so sad to hear that cancer hit someone so young and so strong so hard. He truly was a fighter; his posts made me laugh up until the day he died. Cancer took his life, but in no way did id ever steal away his spirit.

So here's to Brandon - a fighter to the end. *chugs a Guinness* I'll bring you that donair someday, buddy.

I've seen his mother post a few things recently and she has absolutely amazed me. The strength she exudes with every post is unparalleled. I can clearly see where Guinness got his strength, drive, and sense of humor.

I lost two people I knew to cancer in just a couple days. Guinness and Mohawks on Wednesday, June 8th, and my son-in-law's father, Steve, on Friday, June 10th. And in many ways, Brandon's death was worse for me. He was so young, close to my own kids' ages, and he fought so hard. As I read his posts over the last nearly two years, I had a bad feeling about the outcome because the cancer never went away. I never got my card out either. He just went so fast after he posted that the fight was over. RIP Guinness and Mohawks/Bacon/Brandon. You will be missed. If anyone would like to find me on Facebook, I'm Sharon Postles Withrow.
