God damn Ventura is burning. Fire spread like crazy and fast. There was so much wind on Monday. Fucking smoke in the sky. Nasty air. All Ventura has to boil their water now. Pretty bad. Lots of homes were lost. Wild animals are being spotted everywhere as they all freak out. The fires sort of just stuck to the mountains, hills, where all the trees n plants are. But the homes up in the hills were lost. Folks are displaced but there's a huge effort to help those in need at the moment.

As you can see on the map I'm sitting pretty cozy and complaining about the fuckn smoke. A new fire out past Santa Paula, in Fillmore, just across the river in the mountains has started up too. Damn thing leaped over the river to the other side.

I'm used to fires in So. Cal. but not to this extent. Enough already. I do gotta admit, to see an entire hillside ablaze is pretty cool. In that great sort of awe way. Like, that right there, will fucking own you.

I hope those million dollar homes had ins. I don't see why they wouldn't. Good lord.

Anyways, I've heard of reports of fuckers looting the houses that are still intact. God damn, just because the neighborhood is gone, people wanna go and steal stuff. and what the fuck? You're going to steal their tv? God damn, you can get a 50 inch for like 200$ even if you're poor. wtf assholes

So a week later, the fires moved up north. Ventura fire went north up thru the hills on it's way to sunny ol Santa Barbara. There's a town Montecito first and is in the way. Not sure how close the fire is to them but I think people are evacuating. I hope not because my ice rink is up there and there's only one freeway to take up there, I dont want it shut down lol.

Fillmore fire went east toward Simi Valley. Which is where my other ice rink is, but I played on Sunday, so it's all good in that end of the city. The fire is heading more north east. Not sure exactly how bad it is. The smoke is being blown back toward OX, but i think the ocean breeze is pushing it away. The town is kinda smoky, but not really.

The sunsets are interesting. Brown smoke in the sky as the sun sets red, makes the cloud glow orange and pink. The fire near Simi was leaving a huge plume of smoke. Like it was a volcano or some shit. I keep thinking, imagine if that's a bomb... lol too many videogames

I feel like I got alerts about new fires every day this week. My area is safe, but there were a few days when there was an ash layer on my car. Glad you're okay, pD!!

I read yesterday that the fire is 91% contained. Lol mother fucker was burning this whole time. Turned into the largest wild fire in CA history! HAZAH!! HAZAH!!

They say now that the trees in plants n shits all dead, it was the living roots that kept the earth together. In a few years all the roots will die and the ground will loosen up. But we'll see I suppose lol shit

So last I checked the shit was 91% contained. Maybe like a week ago or so? Anyways, it during midnight then sprinkled all day yesterday. Today it rained. Rained pretty good too. Damn town Montecito, up north where the fire was headed had a mudslide and it's turned the damn 101 freeway into a river. Just how the hell am I supposed to get up to Goleta and play hockey tomorrow?

I dunno, I heard like 6 people died. My friend said he read reports traffic is taking about 2 hours longer to get through. Hopefully it's clear enough tomorrow evening.
