I dont think I will be able to afford a ticket to CO on my own..and i'm still having classes in july. But CO, espeicially Col. Springs is a realy lovely place

Hmm. Just checked between Berlin and London which turns out to be 300ish American $.

Maybe if enough people get ambitious about traveling in the next year or so, a trip to Berlin or London could happen.

Hey, if you spent about $500 for road trip expenses to go to Tennessee, you could spend just a little more to go to England or Germany :.)

A road trip requires time, sometimes from work which is a loss in terms of $ not paid, hotel or camping, food and gas. Road trips can be much more expensive than flying.

Mike and Chris and I are planning on going to Effigy Indian Mounds this summer, but we're planning in advance and saving a little toward that each month. Saving a little over time makes all the difference. If something comes up where we can't go, then we've got that money for the same trip later, or to use for something else.

We didn't spend that much. lol. I was fortunate enough to not have to spend too much money on either trip.

I had to quit my job for school, plus I just was just disgusted with the (lack of enforcement of) policies, so now I'm living off loans. I'll probably get a job before school is over, but it just depends on a LOT right now.

I really really want to go though.

Though I wish i had someone to travel from the US to the UK, it should be fun, tiring but fun

btw looking into traveling to england in the summer seems expensive, at least more expensive than this time of year. Also why would someone want to spend tons of money to get to England or Germany for only a weekend, since some people take summer term or work. Seems to me like if you leave the US on a friday you would not get to England till late that day or even the next day, same thing with the trip back. I plan to go for almost 2 weeks but two of those days will be spent purely on the back and forth trip to and from the UK. One would also have to factor in a hotel room for the nights you stay. The UK and Germany seems a bit out of reach, at least for a convention that may not last but a few days at the most.

I understand people want to see different countries and cultures, but to get the most bang for your buck, a weekend or a few days does not seem worth all the traveling and especially money to travel outside the US, but eh...maybe we could charter an AS jet

Maybe if someone had a bit of property or if we could rent some land like at a KOA we could set up a make shift hobo camp...could be interesting

and dance clubs suck lol. well, i don't dance. go to a disco lol. or is that the same thing over there? i think we've got two groups of people who want to gather on AS: the partiers, and the site seers. lol.

i'm not looking for any type of disco, i want a place that is like a bar but has good music. Like you can sit and chat and have a few or take a spin on the dance floor.

I like to site see as well but i also like to have a few with some good company, it is all about balance, like not getting shit faced the night before so you can still wake up and see the town

i just can't hang with a hangover. lol. driving back to alabama hungover sucked so bad haha. i had a lot of fun though.

i always feel stupid when i go out and i'm the only one not dancing. i dont dance. i dont have a clue how to dance. ha.

yeah i used to not dance then i was like who cares...

there are probably ten people who dance worse than you so no worries, what is really bad is that those ten will probably be on the dance floor, but i bet they have a good time!!

Oh, you know if I go, it'll be 2-2 on the dance club vote.. I rock the fuck out, even though I'm pretty sure I can't dance worth shit. Regardless, getting the money together for that is going to be a huge task though... I'd love to go. My one trip to England was fun as hell, but I don't know if I can afford it, nor do I know if I'd even be invited.

And in regards to the AS gathering.. I'd only be able to go to one or the other, I'm quite sure, since I'd have to be flying into Colorado. I haven't the driving stamina for a 30+ hour drive. In any case, I'll be at the one we've been supposedly planning for a while, at least.
