The Greatest Year for Music?
It has often been said that no particular era or year was the greatest year for music but i tend to disagree; these moments defined genres and created legends.
'67 was an ace year for rock because: Pink Floyd released 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn', redefining themselves as electric geniuses. Hendrix released and re-released 'Axis: Bold as Love' and 'Are you Experienced?' establishing himself as a hybrid electric-blues God of Guitar. Jefferson Airplane got baked and recorded 'Surrealistic Pillow', argueably the greatest folks on drugs album of the 60's. The Beatles got similarly baked and created 'Sgt. Peppers' a precursor to the madness of the 'White' album. Foundation-tastic. Incidently, The Doors released 'Doors'. But i wasn't actually a fan. _____________________________ Anyone got a year and albums they can name?

anything between 1960 and 2000. Minute 2000 started, everything just crapped and floated there. Well, not everything, but a damn good amount of it.

I don't think I can name any albums in particular, but I'm rather fond of the 70's.

Hard to say. I would agree with Tyne, because nowadays it's hard to find really good music by real, genuinely talented people. Not that I don't find any, but it's harder.
Especially with where I live. Radio stations that play anything other than hip hop and country are rare.

Re: The Greatest Year for Music?
Hmmm, even though it's fairly recent i'd say 1998 was a pretty good year for music. It seemed all the more special for me as well, since it was the year i graduated from high school (yes, i know i'm old
