Wireless Xbox Live?

My friend was telling me that there's a way to play xbox live without hooking it up to your computer. He says there's this wireless device that connects with a satellite and makes it so no internet connection is need. I was wondering. IS THIS TRUE??? And if so, how does it work. And if not, why did Jesus wear sandles.

Sounds like BS to me. Satellite internet connections have latency times of > 500 ms due to speed of light restrictions (signals traveling 22,300 miles up, down, and then back up and down again takes a while). It's for this reason that you can't really play online games and expect to have a low ping.

but I don't have a cable internet connection....is there any way I could get on xbox live?

Not Xbox Live but, download Xbox Connect (I think thats what its called) and you can play it through the PC, but its not worth it unless you have broadband.
