Impossible Angel

Drinking couldn't drownd it, nor could it be clouded by endless smoke... This inner tourment, this unfounded rage... nothing more then a fool trapped in a shrinking cage.

The psycadellics helped to expand my conceousness, yet my sanity, it did nearly consume. Vacations from reality... holiday for my mind... attempts to aleviate the pain, to clarify the noise within my brain.

Feelings so raw, thoughs so jaded, forsaking myself in this sea of weakness and doubt... gritting my teeth, tears streaked my face, so focused on the dream, blood trickled down from my nose, straining to answer a question i didn't know to ask.

[Subconcious thoughts - why don't i feel alive?]

Sleeping awake, numb to the world as it roared past my being... blind to all but the image laying just past my fingertips... attemping to reach something just outsite my grasp... yet to attain it would cost my breaths last gasp.

Thus... the drugs couldn't find it, the alcohol couldn't kill it... and all i really had to do was have the urge, to will it.

With eyes wide shut, and my hands bound at my sides, who was i to tell that i couldn't fight the rising tide... Grinning despite my loss, fighting against the dream... blood boiling up, causing me to scream.

Seeing my life, for the lie that it was... tore out my weakness, left temptation far in the dust... the answer now within my clenched fist... the only problem is the question, i'd missed.

Waking up sober, seeing things clear... that my own life, was the cause of my fear. Had lost all control, and had nothing to give... the irony here, is i was dying to live.

Now with the answer, and question in mind... i find that is time, i'm ready... i'm no longer blind...

Each sunrise, a blessing... each breath, a precious gift... and i'm thanking you now, for my heart, you did lift... filled past my rafters, with the beauity of life, no longer will i be consumed by my own inner strife...

Granted me strenght, proved there was light... no longer with myself, do i continue to fight... honest, hopeful smiles... deep feelings of joy... life's simple pleasures, you gave to this boy.
