Lamb of God isn't death metal. They're metalcore. They're subtle differences... notably vocalization is more pronounced and understandable (as opposed to GRrowl, grroOOwl, grrooowwLL of Deathmetal) in metalcore, and death metal is generally features much more distorted guitar playing.

I find death metal to be a rather boring genre... unless its Arch Enemy or At the Gates, melodic death metal, as it were.
