i just wrote this new one & just copywrited it as well. enjoy.

the flag flew at half-mass today
to cover the scars, to cover the pain
all the heads are hung in shame
the flag flew at half-mass today

another brutal attack against another
another war, brother against brother
the structure is there but its hidden
the answer is bitter but its still given

so walk out of the front gate
look at the watch & and feel your heart rate
this is the day that you leave
your family & everything you need.

the flag flew at half-mass today
to cover the scars, to cover the pain
all the heads are hung in shame
the flag flew at half-mass today

so your wife and kids are alone now
in a 4-bedroom house in a suburban town
she doesnt have a job because you pulled in all the money
for all the bills, the groceries, and for things like the plumbing

so now your kids are left fatherless
in an era of disbandonment
now you wont even see them grow up
because you were too busy with your temper & you just gave up

the flag flew at half-mass today
to cover the scars, to cover the pain
all the heads are hung in shame
the flag flew at half-mass today

5 years later, look at yourself
just another drone stuck on the 9 to 5 shelf
but you still think you made the right decision
to go divorce your wife & be independent livin

well now your ex-wife is stuck being depressed
and your kids have seen a tyrant mess
but hell this is 200 & 4
divorces are the new civil war.

the flag flew at half-mass today
to cover the scars, to cover the pain
all the heads are hung in shame
the flag flew at half-mass today

yea. well i have to explain it first. see, my dad just moved out so i still have that really bitter side shown in the song. on Friday, i had to write a Final Exam essay on the Civil War. So i took both things & mixed it in to one big fireball of rage.

i always thought it was called half-mast... now i feel stupid :ponder:.....

anyways, love it. my sympathies for you, i can feel a lot of raw emotion in your writing. can't wait to hear it recorded, if you plan on doing so.

It's spelled "copyright" and you don't have to put that message, because even your incoherent bar napkin scribblings and automatically copyrighted under U.S. law

It is MAST.

A flag flies on a mast. "Mass" is a church service, or the amount of matter in a given volume.
