i dont have any kids of my own, but i've been there for my niece and nephew. the crying at 3 in the morning, dirty diapers and baths since i was 8. even groundings, spankings and other forms of punishments. as a matter of fact, i have my 3 yr old neice on my lap right now sucking her fingers and watching tv. anyway, the only thing i haven't done is give birth. yet ppl see me with 4 or more kids. um...no. i think it's b/c i'm puerto rican...lol(but i won't do that for about 6 yrs.) but anyway...

i just want to know yalls thoughts on kids. and if you have any, what misaps, cutsieness and stuff have you gone through...

i think this came out right...kinda still half asleep...

I know exactly what you mean. I've been like a second mother to my niece and oldest nephew. It was really sad when one time someone told my niece to go see Mommy and she didn't know who to go to...Me, Grandma, or my sister (her mom).

There was also this one time that my niece and oldest nephew used to live with me and my parents (parents have gardianship) and the two kids decided that they were going to be funny and get REALLY quiet and hide in their closet (which had no door). :paranoid: :ponder: :scared: I was freaking out because I couldn't find them and then I thought I heard a noise. Well, I went into their bedroom and there they were...hiding in their closet. I snuck up on them and then yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!" Now, when I yell, my voice doesn't just get louder but the pitch drops so I sound a LOT like a guy. The looks on their faces were priceless:confused:!!! According to my mom I sounded like a drill sergent. So I got the nick-name of Drill Sergent Aunt Nadine!

At times I think they do things on purpose to get attention. Then there are the times that they do them and next thing they know they are facing Aunt Meany! I did a lot of the punishment stuff because I did a LOT of babysitting. I'm surprised there aren't permanant nose marks on the wall from where they always had to stand.

AND THEY'RE JUST GETTING WORSE!!!

well, personally i don't have the patience for kids, and i don't think i will ever have children.

I think its a tragedy when kids have kids, and then other people raise them, or the people who have kids are old enough to aren't responsible enough.

And i also hate it when family of an irresponsible parent has to end up raising a kid that isn't theirs. Sometimes i think parents should have to pass a test to have a kid, lol, though i know that's not possible.

i'm the oldest and so I've had to watch my little siblings and such. Little kids are adorable but a lot of work. I used to be all "I'm never having kids" but I don't know, changed my mind. i really like the names Asher and Roseline. If I have kids i want more than one, because I think most only children a)get lonely b) can become really obnoxiously spoiled. Not all, but a good number of them. So i think that's a possibility for me - but many many years from now

I babysit my cousins all the time. My cousin Nate, who is 6, should be on SNL. He's unbelievably funny...probably to my family's influence, (letting him watch Austin Powers @ 3: he used to give everyone the finger). My three cousins live next-door to me, with my other cousin 10 min. away, and my grandparents around the block. My family is Italian and we're HUGE! Most of us live in the same area, so its so nice to have this community of family. Its unbelievable how comforting it is to know you are surrounded by people who would die for you. I wouln't trade having a large family for riches, fame, or any other thing in this world.

it really depends on how i know the kid...just random kids i babysit can be so very annoying...but my own little two brother is just the cutest baby ever!! but thats just cause im partial....so i think no matter what, just about every person who has kids, whether they think they dont like kids or not, the kid will seem much easier and cuter than all other kids.

lol....kids are adorable sometimes. your posts were cute. (cute in a smirk kind of way) I want kids, tho my neice and nephew have inspired me to wait until I'm mentally stable. Then again, my sister said i was abusive. When he was 3, I used to hang my nephew upside down b/c he hated it. I only did it b/c he kept hitting me and wouldn't listen when I told him to stop. I also hang my neice from my hips when she doesn't listen. She's afraid that she'll fall so she thinks I'm going to drop her and stops what she was doing wrong. It's great.
