So I'm spending the weekend chilling and partying with my friends at this beach that's about 2 hours from my house. We have this nice cottage we are staying in all weekend. Today we hung out in the sun all day, drank some mixed drinks, cranked up the tunes, and ate lobster and clams all day! The weather has been perfect and is supposed to continue being perfect right through Monday. God I love weekends like this...they are so hard to come by lately.

Such a good time that you're spending it here? Kids gone to bed? Better you're online than elsewhere I suppose.

What beach are you at?
We usually go to Pensacola or Navarre Beach.

Yeah, and even when I have her on ignore too.
Unfortunately Yugo, we are dealing with one sad state of affairs and life when it comes to this lady. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for her...

A beach called Sunset Bay, which is a really nice beach, but doesn't come close to the beaches down where you live I'm sure. I'm supposed to head down to Tampa Florida in August though, so I can't wait to hit the beach down there too.
Not to mention, do a little partying in Ybor city, which I heard is a blast!

You didn't answer the question though. I am intrigued. Why are you online if you are having such an amazing beech trip? I would have been longing in the sun and under the stars all the time if it was me.
You have electricity in your cottage? Don't you think that defeats the purpose of a cottage?
Funk*Sonic*7
05-24-2009, 10:56 AM
I didn't know that was the question!
I have an iphone. Yes, we have electricity. No it doesn't defeat the purpose.
We are getting away to party and let off some steam...not a camping trip.
Right now, I'm sitting on the upper deck of the cottage overlooking the beach.
It's noon right now and some of us are still feeling hungover, but will be pouring the mixed drinks again in a few hours.
And, we will be boiling some more lobster and grilling some more clams later too.

I phone explains it. lol I didnt think you could get the normal internet on them though...
And in my opinion, cottages are for camping lol. Although there should be electricity to keep the fridge and possibly heating, I figured you were on a computer which in my opinion would definitely defeat the purpose of a camping and a cottage trip.

Nah, we have a fridge, stove but with no oven just the burners, a microwave, and a full bath with a stand-in shower. Yeah, this little weekend get away isn't about roughing it, though I do enjoy camping like that too. You've inspired me though, so maybe I'll plan a camping trip for sometime this summer...

MDL,

If you were following posts you'd know I was responding to a request by PCP. Your reference to teasing or jealousy is somewhat odd, though repulsed and disgust are apropo.
I took a class in criminal justice this past semester. In the midst of researching holokitty I also found posts by Funk to use for class assignments. On one project we worked as teams. Several of us read posts here and on other forums to organize and present examples of online grooming and sexual predatory behavior. I was so 'obsessed' that I deleted most of the bookmarks after the class was over, but since PCP was looking for information that prompted negative attitudes toward Funk, I went fishing again.
You're entitled to your opinions. I'm entitled to mine. Funk has certainly said his piece and then some. Though Funk or anyone is welcome to discuss my comments, it seems Funk would rather not justify things he says. That's his choice. Me, I don't say anything I'm not prepared to support. And Funk is very mature and very experienced, as he emphasizes when he's talking to teens and very young women. I'm sure he can deal with the likes of me :.)
If you're simply dismayed that I speak my mind, there's not much I can do about that except voluntarily shut my trap which isn't likely to happen. But If you disagree with my comments, why not say which and we'll talk about those.

Glad I could help. Roughing it when it comes to camping can really be a lot of fun....But I may have a biased opinion. I am in the army after all.

There is nothing wrong with following what is going on in the forums. It especially helps when issues like this come up.
Having a detailed knowledge of the members and what they have been posting only helps you formulate well informed opinions on the matters and the members involved. (As opposed to flaming and making ignorant assumptions about people...)

MDL, you shouldn't have to shut your trap. In my opinion, having members who speak their mind AND have information to support their opinions is rather refreshing.
I can actually open a debate forum these days and not have to post rules at the beginning of my thread asking people to back up their claims with proof.
I have nothing to complain about except for the immature members who still chose to add "YOU'RE DUMB!!" or "FUCK YOU!!" to their posts in a playground worthy fashion. (A simple "I disagree" and why would have sufficed. )

a cottage for camping? i thought that's what tents were for ? and you're supposed to be a rouchneck

Only if my tent was attacked by a bear or something crazy...if I didn't have a cottage I would be reduced to putting my skills to use and making a temporary shelter out of trees and boughs which is damaging to the environment you know. GOD.

I can deal with any person of any age mdl, but I chose not to deal with you bc regardless of what you think about my posts from your standpoint, you are and always have been completely and way off base. Online grooming!?...please, get a life and get over yourself. If you were truly concerned, you would of contacted authorities by now, so I could be questioned, rather than manipulating people from somebody's forum posts about sex in your criminal justice class. You're on here 24/7, so my question to you is when do you sleep, let alone have time for a college course. That sounds a bit fishy to me. You have taken your little melodramatic fear-monging witchunt to a point that is mentally irregular. It's sad. I have no point to prove and nothing to justify, because you're clearly a walking side effect of too many prescription drugs, you carry on as if you suffer from being very bipolar, and simply need to get a life.

One of my uncles who served in Vietnam Marine Corp., we used to drive him to some random forest/wildlife area where he would just camp by himself for two weeks with just a huge backback on his back. I don't know if he kept enough freeze-dried food with him to last him those two weeks??? He also did one of those cross-country bike trips from like Montana to New Mexico when in his mid 60's! Talk about roughing it!

I can deal with any person of any age mdl, I bet you do.
but I chose not to deal with you bc regardless of what you think about my posts from your standpoint, you are and have been completely and way off base. It's unfortunate for you that age is not the only factor in dealing with someone. Seems you don't 'deal' with me because you can't or don't know how. Tough cookies. Maybe that's 'cause I'm not a teenager or vulnerable and thirsting for all that you think you have to offer.
Online grooming!?...please, get a life and get over yourself. If you were truly concerned, you would of contacted authorities by now, so I could be questioned, rather than manipulating people in from somebody's forum post about sex in your criminal justice class. Already stated here http://www.almostsmart.com/forums/showpost.php?p=345509&postcount=19
Your on here 24/7, so my question to you is when do you sleep, let alone have time for a college course. That sounds a bit fishy to me. I do a lot of things with my time, little of which I'm inclined to elaborate with you. I can even multi-task! Sometimes I read. Even as I am writing these posts I am supervising a reconstruct of a fountain in my flower and weed garden :.) Sometimes when I'm here, I'm also posting in another forum, or few. I don't watch much TV so reading and forums keep me busy when I can't be up and around.
However, several hours for classes plus homework four times a week out of a possible 168 hours... It was coincidentally useful that researching yours and holokitty's posts here were homework :.) Originally I signed up thinking it was more about identity theft. Turned out to be about 50/50 between that and online sexual predators because both are escalating exponentially.
You have taken your little melodramatic fear-mobging witchunt to a point that is mentally irregular. It's sad. I have no point to prove and nothing to justify, because you're clearly a walking side effect of too many prescription drugs, you carry on as if you suffer from being very bipolar, and simply need to get a life.PCP created a thread in which he said was attempting to defend you here until he realized you are indefensible, at which point he dropped it. I had dropped it until you made another comment, at which point I decided to continue which is stated here http://www.almostsmart.com/forums/showpost.php?p=345480&postcount=17
So, without laws being broken, you being glad to do your part to share all your worldly knowledge with minors, much younger women and doing what you believe is ok, should not have a problem with me doing my part and what I believe is ok  Capiche?
What I am interested in is sorting out your contradictions. I missed a few years since 2002 and genuinely interested in learning how you come to believe some of the things you do. If you don't have a problem with your posts, why do you have a problem discussing them? Is it that you wanted to talk at, not with? Or do you only want a much younger audience who won't question what you say?

The beach sounds like fun.
Actually that's a lie, a VACATION sounds like fun. It doesn't have to be the beach...just somewhere that you can put worry aside for awhile. I'm kinda jealous. I haven't had a vacation in a good four years...

Bri and I have been wanting to go to the beach for the past month but it always seems to rain on the weekends. With hurricane season just around the corner (June 1st) I hope they stay in good condition. They just reopened Fort Pitkins that has bee closed since Ivan. Road was repaired only to be washed out again with Dennis. So hopefully we can make it down to the beaches this summer. I dragged Tom back in October (see pic above). It was nice, quiet and still warm that day, but we did not go swimming.

You guys ever go to Perdido Key? Their beaches are awesome but I still prefer Key West

So we've been playing some good party music here at the cottage all weekend like NIN, Eminen, Lupe Fiasco, the Neptunes, the Qemists etc...
Then my friend who's like 3 years younger than me comes up with his wife and monopolizes the stereo with nothing but fucking Neil Diamond!
I love my friend and his wife to the death, so I'm just keeping my mouth shut and dealing with it, but talk about a major buzz kill.

So when I was at this beach/cottage last weekend, we ate a lot of clams and lobster on and off during the whole weekend.
Now I'm craving for nothing but clams and lobster at the moment, it's driving me fucking crazy! Love that stuff!

I want some lobster and clams... anytime! I fucking love lobster.
And I love the beach too... but only in the winter.
Any by winter I mean South Carolina winter. I doubt I would enjoy the beach in say, Massachusetts or something.

Yeah, you definitely wouldn't want to go to any beach up here in the dead of winter.
I've been to Foley Beach down there...it was cool
I went to the store last night and they had 50ct bags of fresh clams for $16.99, so I bought 2 of them!
I am going to go nuts on those things within the next few days!

Yeah, Folly Beach is cool and all, but it's not as much fun as Edisto Beach, or Botany Bay.
But those two are entirely different beaches.
Edisto is a lot like Folly only in some parts less crowded with tourists and beachgoers.
Botany Bay is a beach that you don't want to go swimming at because the rip current will take you out to sea. Also, it's only open to South Carolina natives or out-of-staters accompanied by a native.
If you want a beach that you can't go swimming at but want some privacy, Botany Bay is the place... only they close at night so yeah...
For nighttime beach activity... you can't be Sullivan's Island... I know that, all SC natives know that, Edgar Allen Poe knew that (considering he was stationed there and his short story "The Gold Bug" takes place there.)
