Ive heard "stay on topic" in at least 30 threads in the past few weeks. Id like to know what exactly is an "on topic" thread. Also, if everything has to be on topic wouldn't it in effect make threads boring and less people want to join?

"On topic" simply means respond to the thread topic as a whole, not just the post above yours (i.e. in the latest one, it was a thread about snow days and people started talking Star Wars...)
Natural progression is fine, but if it's something that drastic, just make a new thread about it.
If a line reminds you of something funny that has nothing to do with the thread, PM the writer or something of the like. Don't clog a discussion or debate thread with something that has nothing to do with the original topic.

lmao tyne!

talk about OFF topic. hahaha

dude, no one stays on topic for anything. even in a decent conversation with your friends in real life. topics go off topic, back and forth, on and off. and no one cares. but for some reason you go on the interent and you get a bunch of freaks saying, "DONT POST IN MY THREAD! WAAHHHH IM A BIG FUCKING BABY!"

^ right... but it seems (some of) the new mods are eager to wave their new wand around...

I have too have seen a lot of "stay on topic" stuff going around ever since the new mods were appointed.

on topic is when someone posts about racism, and someone clearly breaks those rules when they post "but what the fuck do you think this boat is man" and posts a badly done gif of a boat thats made to look like bomber bill from mario three.

I say the coolest chess set at the Renaissance Festival, the board was made of chain mail, the squares alternated from gold chain links and silver chain links. The pieces were made of gold and silver (hand crafted) and their eyes, scepters, sword hilts, and what not had a little gem in it.

Cost: $1,299

If I had the money I would have bought it, it was the most gorgeous chess set I had ever seen.
