hey, what is wind, and where the hell does it come from?

it blows over everyone's trashcans, makes a bunch of noise through cracks, and tears out trees from the roots. and you cant stop it from messing up your hair.
plus it's buggin the hell out of my dog. making him pant profusely which smells up the room with his stinky breath.
stupid wind.

the sun shines everywhere on the earth in different degrees onto the world, there is warms the air differently. the different air temperatures mean different pressures. to adjust the pressures the air mass goes always from high to low... the moving air mass is called wind
(i learned that some years ago in geographie, sounds probably really strange when i express that in english)

ok.. ok...

the wind is not my friend, it is on MY LIST...but i guess we couldnīt live without it :ermm:

so , this wind we have now is due too... ?

so what makes the wind go fast or become a breeze?

and why does it stop sometimes and then pick up again?

i think the warmer the sun lets the air get, the more aera it takes and so the faster the wind blows.
and we have different pressure zones on the earth, they are equal on the south and noth half globe.. and because of the Coriolis effect makes the wind go to west or east... in your region (at least i think so because it is also my region) it is the west.. so your weather is effected my the west wind zonal circulation.. wait.. you live more south so it is the north east passat... and because the warm and cold air presses against each other your wind isnīt going straight and so it stops sometimes and then picks up again

... at least i think it is that way

'Twas blustery today in the Land of Cheese as well.

But I must say, I am disappointed; I thought this was going to be thread about the many wonders of flatulence... :depressd:

hahah hell no.

take your farts somewhere else. it's already bad enough to smell dog's breath.

wow big complicated words, and geography, and metorgraphy (like weather people) if thats a word, and now I'm just lost. So yeah umm yay for wind and smart people and dogs breathe.

hahah hell no.

take your farts somewhere else. it's already bad enough to smell dog's breath.Psh, well fine, then. You title your thread "break wind" and then dismiss all talk of flatulence. *shakes head in disbelief*

And I'll have you know that my farts are splendidly scented; they should bottle 'em and make 'em into a perfume and name it "Ode to Flatulence." Yeah...

I need more sleep, or less coffee. Or both. :nervous:

hahah zeepee.

i made that title so people would look at it. i always do that with the subject title. it's clever to get people to read.

heres a simple explanation. One part of the atmosphere is in a baloon. The Baloon is filled. Another part of the atmosphere is in another baloon. The two baloons are attached at the opening point. When the filled baloon (high pressure) is opened, the high pressure is evened out over the empty (low pressure) baloon. The transfer of pressure or air creates the wind. Its simply the movement of gas particles that u 'feel', or that moves stuff.

I like baloons, I like eassy to follow examples containing baloons. It clarifyes questions I have both about baloons and the wind. Graci. and rep.

the earth sure does have a lot of gas.

so, can you explain then, why the wind takes a break from being windy? explain how the high pressured BALLOON closes it's opening then opens up again...if you can, since Hamana is having a little trouble with her english and im having trouble comprehending what she's saying.

The wind stops because for that time, the two regions in the atmosphere are of equal pressure. It gets windy again when one area gets a lot of sun, (heat energy), which warms up the air. Knowing that when you increase the temperature of a gas, the pressure increases too, the pressure of that region is increased. Then it gets windy again until the pressures are balanced.

Like heating up one baloon so its big again, then opening it up.

I try to do that with my poetry.

Sometimes it works.
